- Several of TraceTracker’s customers and long-time partners will be presenting on January 20th at the “Traceability of ecolabelled seafood” conference in Copenhagen.
The conference, which is organized by The Nordic Council of Ministers and SINTEF will discuss how tracing is managed in emerging and existing eco-labels. Experience will be shared from practical testing of traceability of ecolabelled seafood products.
TraceTracker’s partner, Nicolas Hild from ROI4U and the Swedish Board of Fisheries will provide an overview of how the eTrace project lead to increased sales for Swedish fresh fish. The eTrace project in Sweden utilized TraceTracker’s powerful traceability system based on the EPCIS standard for data exchange. By demonstrating the origin the seafood products, it engaged seafood customers and boosted sales.
BASF, a TraceTracker customer, will be represented at the conference by Dr. Christoph Guenther. His presentation will cover the S.E.T project and ProSustain standard. The S.E.T project stands for Sustainability, Eco-efficiency and Traceability, and was designed to help BASF customers while promoting sustainable development. It allows access to traceability information along the value chain, using TraceTracker’s Global Traceability Network (GTNet). In addition, it includes eco-efficiency analyses for BASF products.
ProSustain is a sustainability standard provided by Den Norsk Veritas (DNV). The standard provides a robust yet practical approach to measure and improve a product’s sustainability. It aligns with other internationally recognized standards relating to environmental, social and economic aspects of products.
Other presentations at the conference include those by SINTEF. Maitri Thakur and Erik S. Hognes will present results from a workshop on a practical trace back test of eco-labelled seafood, which will take place the day before the main conference.
